Lead Auditor’s Needed
Global Quality Assurance (GQA) has long term temporary positions with established primary utility and suppliers available. These positions are structured for either an independent contractor or full time employee with GQA. As a full time GQA employee complete benefits would be available, as would the opportunity for a long term position with GQA.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Must be willing to travel extensively.
- Performs independent audits in various areas of client organizations (e.g. Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Work Management and support organizations) for those clients’ Nuclear Quality Programs. This includes, while acting as a contracted agent for the Client, the audit, survey or surveillance of Client supplier/vendor/contractor QA/QC programs to ensure compliance.
- Reviews documents, witnesses the performance of audited activities, prepares checklists and agendas for audit, performs audits and assessments of performance, conducts pre-and post-audit meetings/interviews, and prepares final audit reports in a timely manner (GQA standard of 15 days).
- Ensures and documents that corrective actions are taken based on report findings.
- As assigned, reviews Client organization’s QA manual and implementation procedures to verify compliance with industry codes and standards, NRC regulations and regulatory commitments.
- As assigned, for specific Clients - analyzes findings/issues/non-conformances identified during audits to determine program quality and identify performance trends. This analysis would include all available oversight results, both internal and external, and trending data. Results would be communicated to client’s senior management.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge and understanding of NRC revisions to regulations and industry codes and standards. Including but not limited to maintaining qualifications needed for Lead Auditor certification per ANSI N45.2.23 and NQA1.
- As assigned, assists the various project functions for the implementation of QA requirements up to and including site QA/QC project management.
- As assigned, provides other related consulting services as needed to support Client needs and expectations.
- Ensures that all assigned clients receive the highest levels of service and support consistent with the goals and objectives set forth by the President and specified in the Company’s Mission Statement.

Instructors:
Shamsher (Sham) Beri specializes in 10 CFR 50 App. B, 10 CFR Parts 71/72, DOE 10 CFR 830 Subpart A, ASME Sec III NCA 3800/4000 and ISO 9001:2008. He is considered a Subject Matter Expert in Commercial Grade (CGI) Dedication based on 10 CFR Part 21 and EPRI NP-5652. He has over 25 years of Quality Management System (QMS) experience and has performed over 550 audits all over the world and has trained hundreds in more than 10 countries including Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Sham is a lead auditor per ANSI N.45.2.23 and ISO 9001:2008 per under RAB QSA (USA/Australia). Sham has a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MBA.
Emily A. Mayhew has over thirty-five (35) years experience in the nuclear industry and is considered a subject matter expert in the field of quality. Ms. Mayhew held the AREVA top quality position for the United States in the nuclear industry. This required a broad based background of all facets of the nuclear industry. Emily received two Associate Degrees in Education and Business from CVCC in 1979. She continued her education at Lynchburg College where she received her Bachelor's in Business Administration in 1981 and her MBA in 1984.
Michael J. Morgan has over thirty (30) years experience in the commercial nuclear industry (in both the private and public sectors). He also has over seven (7) years military (nuclear submarine and prototype) experience. In his various private sector positions with Consumers Power Company (Jackson, MI) and Westinghouse Corporation (Zion, IL) he was involved with many operational, training, and engineering disciplines. Michael was a simulator/classroom instructor and an adjunct facility member (Joliet Junior College; Joliet, Illinois) during his employment with Westinghouse. While at Westinghouse (Zion), Michael also conducted basic nuclear physics training courses using their pool-type training reactor. As a former (now retired) federal government employee, Michael held operator licensing inspector and resident/senior resident inspector positions. He also held various license renewal project manager and vendor group inspector/auditor positions. As a public-sector government regulator, Michael performed over 250 full-scale inspections/audits. Records of his regulatory activities are available upon request and they can be obtained via a publically-accessible website. Michael is a lead auditor as per ANSI N.45.2.23 and he holds an AS in Biology, a BS in the Physical Sciences and he is a certified Reactor Technician. Michael has also held an USNRC-issued Senior Reactor Operators license (Midland) and a USNRC-issued Inspector Certification (Zion).
Practicum and/or Case Studies
We believe our students learn by example and practice. Our studies are created from real life situations our instructors have encountered and managed in the industry. Case studies are provided to students for reference, review and class participation. Classes are interactive and teams are created to discuss auditing situations. Students will learn to observe, analyze, document and report findings while effectively functioning as a member of an auditing team.
Examination/Certification
A Certificate of Completion is provided to all students successfully completing the course. Students are graded on participation, learning and contribution to the class. This participation counts for 50% of the grade. A written examination will be given at the end of the course and accounts for the other 50% of the grade.

Procedure writing - Our quality consultants can help determine where procedures are required and help to write them to ensure compliance to the targeted requirements.
ISO Audit/Survey Services - We provide ISO internal audits, supplier audits or pre-assessment audits in preparation for your ISO 9000 registration audit by a qualified RAB Registrar.
Surveillance/Witness Inspections - Our consultants conduct on-site supplier surveillance or witness observations/inspections for many of our customers. Surveillance activities may be mechanical, welding, test, inspection or analysis verification.
Nuclear Audit/Survey Services - Our ANSI N45.2.23 Lead Auditors participate in NUPIC joint utility audits or commercial grade surveys on a regular basis for many nuclear utility customers.
